KEB Activities

Arbor Day
Commissioners of Keep Englewood Beautiful and employees of the Parks Department spend the day holding tree planting demonstrations and giving out tree seedlings to Englewood residents.  The event is held in April.

Electronic Recycling Day
The National Safety Council estimates that 50 MILLION computers in the U.S. become obsolete each year.  Hazardous substances from these obsolete computers end up in the ground water unless they are recycled.  Most trash companies will not take these electronic items with regular trash pickup service, but they can be brought to the Electronic Recycling Day held jointly with the Cities of Englewood and Littleton.  The event is held in June.

Englewood Clean-Up Coupons
Englewood Clean-Up Coupons (formerly Good Neighbor Days) provide Englewood residents a chance to dispose of oversized and unwanted trash at a reduced rate.  Residents may pick up a free coupon on designated Saturdays, June - August.  Coupons are valued at $25 off regular fees at the Waste Management transfer station.  Proof of residency is required and only one coupon is available per household.

Englewood Garden Tour
KEB hosts an Englewood Garden Tour where residents and businesses show off their roses, vegetable gardens, koi ponds, and much more.  The self-guided tour is held in July.

Great American Cleanup
In conjunction with Keep America Beautiful's program, KEB spends a few days a year picking up litter in public areas.  This program is the nation's largest community improvement program with an estimated 2.8 million volunteers and attendees working hard to make a difference.  Dates for this event are yet to be determined.

Holiday Lighting
The Holiday Lighting event is held every December.  The Commission wants to inspire a spirit of personal, neighborhood, and civic pride by Englewood residents and businesses to decorate for the holiday season.

Household Hazardous Waste Round-up
Residents of the Cities of Englewood and Littleton can safely dispose of some common household hazardous materials at the annual Household Hazardous Material Round-up.  The event is held the first two Saturdays in September.  Examples of accepted materials are:  batteries, gasoline, fluorescent lamps, motor oil, mercury and pesticides and herbicides.  Electronic waste such as hard drives, monitors, and cell phones are also now accepted.

Leaf and Tire Drop Off
Residents of the Cities of Englewood and Littleton have an environmentally responsible alternative to disposing of bagged leaves in a landfill and cluttering the garage with old tires.  The event is held in November.

If you have additional questions or wish to volunteer for any of the above activities, please call 303-762-2342 or e-mail Keep Englewood Beautiful.
